NOTE FROM EVA: Anna Sinclair Tipps deserves a standing ovation for the life she lived and shared with us. Anna bravely fought the cancer battle and then eventually lost it last year. She was the publisher for a popular raw food magazine, a mom of 4 beautiful and happy children, and one of the kindest, most giving people you ever met.
The legacy she left us is intense. I know deep down there were many reasons for her life and even perfect reasons for her seemingly untimely and early passing. If ever there was a better reminder to say “YES!” to life it was with what Anna shared with us.
By chance, I received an email a couple weeks ago from a woman with a recipe she found on the internet by Anna. This recipe was not credited to Anna, but had a link to her now-defunct old website. I knew it was Anna’s right away and so emailed this woman (who happens to have fought and WON the cancer battle SIX times and is now FULLY VIBRANT and saying “YES!” to life in every possible way) to apologize that we would not be able to share it.
I simply didn’t have a way to ask Anna for permission. But something struck me about it. Hard. I ended up bringing the topic up on Facebook, and several mutual friends of Anna’s stepped up to say that Anna loved sharing and would SURELY say “YES!” to sharing her recipe.
On my dear and trusty sidekick Venita’s advice, I actually found Anna’s mother to ask for permission. I kid you not, within MINUTES of emailing her, I had a solid “YES!” from her momma. Anna’s mom so warmly and enthusiastically encouraged me to share any and all of Anna’s recipes. And so we are actually dedicating the full week to Anna’s life, her memory, to fighting HARD to win the cancer battle, to preventing cancer, to saying “YES!” to life as we have it, and to Anna’s truly amazing recipes. She gifted us with so much. Truly. So, so much. I have very happy tears in my eyes thinking of the way she shared.
I thank you for joining us. It’s going to be so far beyond special, and I have a feeling some lives might even be changed by some of what we have planned to share with you throughout the week.
