So, Carlos. He has really been quite the trooper. He’s on Day 15 or maybe Day 16 of eating all raw. Except somewhere in there about 4 or 5 days ago, he was hungry, and I didn’t send him off with anything (I was sleeping when he left for work ~ shame on me!)… and he ate some rice and beans at lunch.
I knew it because he was so grumpy that night!
He told me and explained anyways… (nice honest man that he is!)… and I promised to help more with having the heavier foods ready. But then the next morning he was sooo tired and grumpy that he grabbed a coffee.
I knew it because he was even MORE grumpy that night.
It was crazy interesting because he recognized it too ~ that he had been so kind and loving since going raw ~ but that when he dipped into the other cookie jar ~ not so much.
Sweet Manly Man Cereal
2 cups buckwheat (sprouted then dehydrated ’til crispy ~ don’t be shy to ask if you need more info on this)
1 t coconut sugar
2 T raisins
1/4 cup slivered almonds (sprouted, skin removed, separated at the seam)
1/4 apple, sliced thin
cinnamon on top
Quick No-Measure Almond Milk
2-ish cups soaked almonds
Cover them with water up to double their height in the blender.
Big glop date paste (soaked dates ~ blended after pitting with the date water)
Some vanilla bean ~ to taste
Pinch salt
Blend, then strain with a nut milk bag.
He likes it hot… we’re in New England… he’s working hard… it was 6-something am. So I put the milk back in the blender for another minute or two until it was pretty close to the 118 degree mark.
He was a happy man. I hope he’s not a hungry man today!!
xxo Eva

Oh my! You may have just given me a much-sought replacement for oatmeal!
GOOD! This one’s totally hitting the spot for me now, being pregnant and needing more calories and protein than usual! It’s so filling!!
