I was just going to make a milkshake of any ole variety when Wilmary on Facebook (Hi! ::waves::) told us she was drinking chai almond milk. Oooh, that really got me excited to make a more fun milkshake. I ended up with something this is like part frappe, part milkshake, part chai. It really came out nicely!! Took me about 8 minutes, start to finish, because I did have to make the milk from scratch!
(But of course I did the cheater version of the super-easy, no-measure almond milk where I literally just threw almonds, water, and ice in the blender without vanilla or any of the other fun.) No biggie. I was jonesin’ for a chai milkshake! There was no time to be wasted on sweetening the nut-milk!
OK, so here is what I threw together that ended up sooo good:
INGREDIENTS
2 cups nut-milk
2 frozen bananas (really important that they be frozen!)
1 Tbsp carob
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cloves
1/4 ground cardamom
Favorite sweetener, to taste (I was happy with the bananas, but some would need more sweet than me!)
INSTRUCTIONS
BLEND! That’s it! Then top with some cinnamon powder for garnish, and you’re GOLDEN!!
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE MILKSHAKE? WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR RECIPE IDEAS… I’M TOTALLY CRAVING MILKSHAKES ALL THE TIME LATELY!!

I just made this incredible milkshake that I’ll share with you: Carrot Carob! So good. I used frozen bananas, almond butter, carob powder, a dash of pink himalayan salt, a dash or two of cinnamon, and carrot juice.
Ooooh, That’s so interesting! Makes me think of this “carrot cake” nut-milkshake I keep meaning to replicate. I should do that TOMORROW!!! Sounds great!!!
Ha — clearly I’m excited you shared this. I better stop before the punctuation police get on my case. Thank you Laura!
