{raw vegan recipe} Chocolate Silk Shake

So as usual I’ve got my two cents! lol!

FIRST: Natalia puts this in the instructions, but SERIOUSLY do not add the ice until the first part is already blended! VERY IMPORTANT, because otherwise your coconut oil will do some funky stuff! Just trying to save you from learning the hard way!

ALSO: I don’t know if you have heard about coconut oil for weight loss. It’s the weirdest thing… but for some reason with a lot of people ADDING a tablespoon or even two to their usual food… makes them LOSE weight. One reason I’ve read is that, basically, the “good fat” pushes the “bad fat” out. Whatever the reason, it really does help a lot of people. I have one friend who had that last stubborn 5 pounds to lose, and when she started drinking this {super-easy coconut milkshake} daily, she was surprised that the weight melted off in NO TIME flat!

Anyways, this drink is delicious either way. SO smooth, creamy and decadent! A huge thank you to {Natalia KW} for sharing it with us!

serves 2

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 ripe Hass avocado
  • juice of one lime
  • 3/4 cup raw cashews, preferable soaked for 1 hour, drained and rinsed
  • 6 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 6 tablespoons liquid sweetener (like agave nectar, coconut nectar, or honey if you eat honey)
  • 1/4 cup cold-pressed coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons lucuma powder (optional, but adds to the decadence)
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • pinch of Himalayan salt
  • 1 tray of ice cubes (around 14 cubes)

INSTRUCTIONS

Place water, avocado, cashews, cacao, sweetener, coconut oil, lucuma, vanilla bean and salt in a blender and blend on high until smooth. Add ice and blend again. Divide among 2 glasses and enjoy immediately. If you have any leftover (yeah right!), this freezes beautifully into chocolate ice cream.
