The joy I found this morning from picking out the collards for this green smoothie was HUGE. (Can ya see the smile on my face? It was there way before I asked my friend Michael to snap of photo of me digging through his lovely garden!) There is just nothing like fresh!
BUT, to top it off, I had local mint and lavender leaves from Morning Glory Farm in Edgartown, Massachusetts.
AND I had fresh frozen organic raspberries!
The bananas and pineapples were not local — I hope you will forgive me — they sure did travel nicely because they were perfectly sweet and ripe. I say this even as someone who is used to living in Brazil and eating the delightful variety of bananas and pineapples you can find there!
Lavender Mint Raspberry Green Smoothie
INGREDIENTS
5 large collard green leaves
2 frozen bananas
1 cup frozen raspberries
1/4 frozen pineapple
1 1/2 cups water
large handful catmint
2 stems of lavender, stems removed
AND, BLEND!
WHAT’S IN YOUR SMOOTHIE TODAY? I’D LOVE TO HEAR!!
I can’t resist a spotlight on the lavender and mint from Morning Glory! And the bananas that were… not so local… but almost nearly as appreciated. And of course on the lovely collards from Michael’s garden!

Thanks! Was trying to think of some options for my lavender and mint thriving in my garden… : )
YAY! Glad I shared it with you then — between those and raspberry, I’m in heaven today! This was such a surprisingly delightful combo! Lemme know if you do anything else fun! I’m still playing with the lavender I have (still have about 15 more sprigs. Did you see my chocolate recipe?)

Love the lavendar/mint/raspberry combo! Will definitely have to try that one of these days. At the moment I am visiting family in Niagara Falls, Canada (from Australia) and used some of what’s local and in season at the moment for this morning’s breakfast smoothie – peaches, apples, mystery leafy greens found in my mother’s fridge, dates, raw cacao, coconut oil, chia seeds, cinnamon, almond milk. Chocolate milkshake!
OH! I just saw you on Facebook — nice to make the connection! Your smoothie sounds delish! All you had to say was the two words, and ya had me: Chocolate Milkshake!
lol!
Enjoy your time on this side of the world — I’m hoping to make it to your side one of these days!
