I didn’t expect this to be so intensely delicious, I was just eating for energy. I had some really heavy food for breakfast, and it was NOT a good replacement for my usual green smoothie.
My body was tired. Go figure! Not a normal occurrence, and not one I was thrilled about. I had to take action.
I looked in the fridge and basil SCREAMED at me! “Eat me!” So did the sunflower sprouts, which I usually throw on top of a salad.
ONE SIP of this thing, and I knew it was going to be a good drink. I could FEEL the vibrance already pulsating through my veins. No joke.
I’m not going to mislead ya, though. The flavor wasn’t like eating a chocolate sundae. This thing tasted healthy, which I enjoyed (and actually thought was insanely delicious!) interestingly enough! But consider yourself warned!

2 cups sunflower sprouts

That one is definitely hardcore. Not sure I ever put sprouts in a smoothie before and I’m currently sprouting some sunflower ones too. It must be a calling.
Ha! You can do it! I was SERIOUSLY jolted when I had this ~ I can’t even believe how much energy it gave me. IMMEDIATELY. And it wasn’t that spastic sugar-filled nervous energy I have gotten when eating low-fat, high-fruit. It was like *Bam*Pow* I will Conquer The World Calmly and Yet Energetically. Pretty awesome stuff!
Lemme know if you try it!
Glad to see you, was actually just telling my mom about your site because she’s growing a garden on her porch!

Eva, this was AMAZING! Tasted better than I thought. I love GREEN smoothies, so I wasn’t hesitant about the “green-ness” of it. I actually loved it! I might put more basil next time. I used blueberries (b/c that’s what I had) and loved the carob/blueberry combo. – I usually do. Thanks!! I pinned this one on my recipes board.
Oh NICE! You loved it AND we got pinned! lol!
I had the SAME feeling… tasted better than I thought it would! I was pleasantly surprised.
So glad you enjoyed it too Kibby!!
