Special notes about Java Green: It is NOT a fully raw restaurant, but it does have several raw options including even the more gourmet PIZZA and kelp noodles! YUM!! This cafe is near Dupont Circle and super into organic, local, and sustainable farming.

From http://livegreen.net: “Java Green was the Washington City Paper’s Best Vegetarian Restaurant of 2008. It’s a cozy eco-café that offers affordable, tasty, and organic treats including sandwiches, salads, noodle soups, wraps, smoothies, brunch items on Saturday, and Fair-Trade coffee. Java Green uses biodegradable utensils, 100% wind energy, and is always a great place for good conversation.”

I haven’t been back since they expanded, but I used to eat at Java Green every week, for years, when I lived in DC. Best vegan cafe I’ve ever been to. K Street types often seen ordering/eating there, all the while on their phones, without realizing it wasn’t real meat.
Muahahaha/nomnomnom.
